02/2010 - SOCAT LAS version 2.3 was launched

02/2010 - SOCAT Equatorial Pacific, North Pacific, and Indian Ocean regional workshop was held in Tokyo, Japan Report

10/2009 - SOCAT LAS version 2.2 was launched

06/2009 - SOCAT Atlantic and Southern Ocean regional workshop was held at UEA in Norwich, UK. SOCAT LAS version 2.0 was presented Report

05/2009 - SOCAT input database was updated (cruises were added and/or updated) since missing cruises were identified at the regional meeting. Initial input database for SOCAT version 1.3 was frozen - meaning that no more data will be added. The current input database consists of approx. 7.5 million surface CO2 measurements with a a total of 2150 cruises

03/2009 - SOCAT Pacific regional workshop was held at NIES in Tsukuba, Japan. Live Access Server version 1.0  of SOCAT was presented by NOAA/PMEL Report

03/2009 - SOCAT version 1.2 is available for secondary QC. The input database was updated (cruises were added and/or updated) since missing cruises were identified at the regional meeting

01/2009 - SOCAT coastal regional workshop was held at IFM/GEOMAR in Kiel, Germany  Report

12/2008 - SOCAT version 1.1 is available for secondary QC. The input database was updated (cruises were added and/or updated)

06/2008 - Second technical meeting was held at UNESCO, Paris. NOAA/PMEL agreed on setting up a LAS (Live Access Server) version of SOCAT which will be used for secoandary QC and at a later point for distribution Report

06/2008 - SOCAT input database was updated (cruises were added and/or updated)

12/2007 - SOCAT input database was updated (cruises were added and/or updated)

12/2007 - First technical meeting was held in Bremen, Germany, along with the 3rd annual CARBOOCEAN meeting to agree on 1st level QC for the data set and decide on a way forward for the 2nd level QC issues Report

08/2007 - First version of the SOCAT input database was compiled at the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research holding approx. 4.5 million surface CO2 measurements with a total of 1250 cruises

04/2007 - At the "Surface Ocean CO2 Variability and Vulnerability" (SOCOVV) workshop at UNESCO, Paris. Participants agreed to establish a global surface CO2 data set that brings together all publicly available data in a common format. SOCAT was initialized and regional groups established Report
